After sell-out concerts in London, Berlin and Leipzig, Michael Woods returned to Melbourne Recital Centre with the Chamber Orchestra at St Paul’s and brilliant Australian soloists, Jennen Ngiau-Keng (violin) and Anne Gilby (oboe), to present three exciting Christmas concerts of JS Bach and Tchaikovsky favourites. The program included Holst’s St Paul’s Suite, Bach’s A minor violin and G minor oboe concerti, Morricone's Gabriel's Oboe, Piazzolla's Libertango and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings.

"I think this was the best live performance on oboe I've ever heard. Anne Gilby performing with The Chamber Orchestra at St Paul's, conducted by Michael Woods. The Bach concerto was spectacular, but Gabriel's Oboe was truly stunning. A really excellent concert all round. Fantastic Bach violin concerto also by Jennen Ngiau-Keng". CM
